In case you’ve never heard of the rock, pebble, sand theory it goes something like this:

  • Fill a jar with rocks => ask if it’s full (it’s not)
  • Then dump some pebbles in there and shake them around. You’ll see how they make their way in between the rocks. => ask if it’s full (it’s not)
  • Finally dump sand in and shake it around. Now it’s full!

We all have a tendency to fill our days with sand first which means we miss out on spending the right amount of time on our rocks.
