We are excited to anounce the latest Elevar product update, designed to maximize the potential of your data and simplify future upgrades.
In short, Elevar has been updated to a single Shopify source via Theme App Extensions.
This article will cover the benefits and how to upgrade.
Benefits of the Elevar Theme App Extension Update:
- Save time and effort with automated upgrades. Never manually update the Elevar code in your Shopify theme again!
- Simplified theme file management. No more concerns about files being deleted or overwritten.
- Full checkout funnel tracking! Elevar 3.9 is guaranteed to be compatible with all Shopify Storefront 2.0 themes and Checkout Extensibility.
While this update is optional within the Elevar app, Shopify requires all third-party app providers to transition their code installations to utilize Theme App Extensions by December 31, 2023.
After the end of the year, updating will unfortunately become a more manual process.

You are not required to upgrade immediately with the release of Elevar’s 3.9 data layer version; however, Shopify requires all third-party app providers to transition code installations to utilize Theme App Extensions by December 31, 2023.
Upgrading in 2024 will be a manual process.
